Join us tonight for episode 5 of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Edgar vs. Team Penn. The Ultimate Fighter airs on Fox Sports 1 starting at 10:00 p.m. ET. We’ll have TUF discussion, right here at Bloody Elbow.
Last week, Team Edgar got on the board, and we got our first exciting fight of the season. Frankie Edgar’s Middleweight Dhiego Lima took out Tim Williams with a rear naked choke in a nice back and forth fight. With control finally in his hands, Edgar chose his top pick to go up against B.J. Penn’s #2 Light Heavyweight. Here’s tonight’s fight:
Josh Clark (5-2, Team Penn) vs. Corey Anderson (2-0, Team Edgar) – Light Heavyweight
The Hillbilly Heartthrob Josh Clark has been a pro since 2009 and has a record of 0-1 in Bellator, but interestingly, it’s been over two years since his last pro fight. Clark trains alongside some solid fighters including Roxanne Modafferi. He had a hard fought win to get into the house, digging deep to get a 3rd round submission victory. He’s a big Light Heavyweight and can use that size well – watch him deliver a great KO here. Anderson comes in off a dominating 2 round decision win. He has a lot of amateur experience, but only turned pro last year and has so far logged just 6 minutes of ring time in his professional career. Both of his career wins come against fighters making their debuts. Anderson does have good NCAA wrestling experience working with Ben Askren, which he used nicely to get in to the house. He clearly does not have the experience edge here, but there’s a reason Edgar picked him first. Look for Anderson to control Clark and even up the series at 2-2.
