The news just keeps coming from Glory. In the wake of Glory 16 Denver last weekend, the company has announced Daniel Ghita vs. Rico Verhoeven, Marc de Bonte vs. Joseph Valtellini, plus the Glory debut of former WEC champion Miguel Torres. Now, we’ve got the final fight card announcement for Glory 17, and it’s one that is sure to please a certain segment of fans.

Headlining Glory 17 Los Angeles will be Mirko Cro Cop vs. Sergei Kharitonov. We knew Cro Cop would be in the main event, but now Khartitonov as his opponent is official.

Great, great fight here. Neither man is at the very top of the kickboxing ladder, but both are dangerous fighters with a lot to offer. Cro Cop is 6-1 since making his return to kickboxing 2 years ago, and is coming off the disputed decision loss to Remy Bonjasky. Kharitonov is 5-4 as a kick boxer, and was defeated by Anderson Silva in a quality fight in Denver. Both men of course made a name for themselves as MMA fighters in the legendary Pride organization, though interestingly their paths never crossed in Pride. This feels like a fight that just should have happened a long time ago – no we get it in Glory.

Glory 17 takes place on Saturday June 21 and will air live on Spike TV. The show will be followed by the Last Man Standing PPV. Get the full line-up for Glory 17 below.
