Glory has announced more details on their upcoming Glory 17 Los Angeles show. Glory 17 is set to take place live from Los Angeles on Saturday, June 21. Now, we have some initial fight details announced.
In the main event, Andy Ristie will face US fighter Ky Hollenbeck. This was originally scheduled to be the main event at Glory 14, but when Hollenbeck stepped out of the fight, Davit Kiria replaced him, winning the Glory Lightweight title in the process. Ristie’s loss at Glory 14 adds an extra layer of intrigue here; the Lightweight division is a volatile and hotly contested place right now, and a loss will be tough for either man.
Also on the show will be, as always, a 4 man tournament. For Glory 17, that will be a Featherweight contender tournament, with the winner moving on to a Featherweight title shot later in the year. Smart move from Glory here as the Featherweight division is their least used – this will be a good chance to bring some attention to these fighters.
Glory 17 Los Angeles will air live on Spike TV in the United States. To clarify, this is NOT the same thing as the Glory “Last Man Standing” PPV. That PPV will also take place on June 21 in Los Angeles, but will air immediately following Glory 17. So fans will be able to watch Glory 17, featuring Ristie vs. Hollenbeck and the Featherweight tournament, free on Spike, before switching over to PPV for “Last Man Standing” and the 8 man Middleweight title tournament. Which means it’s going to be a full night of kickboxing. Get ready.
