Fabrício Werdum has a reason to be confident in his upcoming fight against Travis Browne this Saturday at UFC on Fox 11. The Brazilian Heavyweight insinuated to Combate.com that he got the best of Browne in past training exchanges with him:
Travis and I have trained together already, kind of three or four years ago. We were wearing gloves, shin guards and mouthpiece, he didn’t even see me. I can’t talk about training but he know what happened.
Although Werdum hinted something – saying that he doesn’t talk about training – he criticized Daniel Sarafian in TUF Brazil 1, when “Vai Cavalo” was the BJJ instructor of Team Wanderlei. The participant Renee Forte accused the UFC welterweight fighter of claiming that he had submitted Renato Sobral – the wrestling coach of Team Wandy – in training that went down before the show. After the reaction of Sarafian, who strongly denied the situation, Werdum said: “You are big like this because you are with your guys (Team Belfort) but this is differently than the streets”.
In the past, the UFC Heavyweight contender said in this interview on October of 2012 that he took Daniel Cormier down three times and submitted DC once in a training session.
