Former UFC Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos refuses to believe that his rivalry with Cain Velasquez is over. While the current title holder is hurt and expecting to face the winner of Werdum vs. Browne in late 2014, Cigano promised Tatame.com that he will climb his way to be once more the challenger.

I think I will meet Velasquez again in a title fight. He says I won’t but I don’t think so, I’m still the number 1 guy from the divisional ranking. Of course I won’t fight for the belt so soon but if Cain establish himself as the champion and I obtain two or three wins, I believe we will meet again. He is a guy that I admire a lot. He was knocked out, learned with his mistakes, blocked my game and beat me. Now it’s me who is trying to evolve.

JDS moved from Salvador – where he left his long time coach Luiz Dorea on good terms – to Rio de Janeiro to train part time in Team Nogueira and mostly in Nova Uniao with his new head coach Dede Pederneiras. The promised new-and-imoroved version of the 30 year old Brazilian may still be seen this spring if everything goes according to his wish.

They can book my fight right now. In the end of May or beginning of June I would be ready to fight. I need three months to prepare myself and have a nice camp.
