CORRECTION: Ah the complexities of covering an international sport. Saturday morning as originally published? That is incorrect. The card is SUNDAY morning. Bloody Elbow sincerely apologizes for the confusion.
This weekend, K-1 returns for the semifinals of their ongoing K-1 World MAX 2013 Grand Prix. And yes, I know it’s 2014, but we’re still wrapping up the 2013 GP here. The K-1 MAX 2013 GP Final Four is live from Azerbaijan this Sunday. Because of the time zone difference, the show will be airing Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. EST for fans in the US. The entire event is available as a free live stream right here and at K-1’s website.

The highlight of the show is, of course, the ongoing MAX Grand Prix. Featured here are the semifinals, with the finals to take place later. Semifinals are Buakaw Banchamek vs. Sung-Hyun Lee and Enriko Kehl vs. Shane Campbell. That’s not a bad final four by any means, but clearly Buakaw is head and shoulders above the other three, and barring something weird happening, he should cruise all the way to the MAX crown here. Still, Lee should make this a fight, and Kehl vs. Campbell could be excellent. I’ll give the edge to Kehl there, but it’s a close one. Check out the full fight card below.
Also of note, K-1 has confirmed to Bloody Elbow that Badr Hari will be in attendance. Hari has been fighting for K-1 and Legend Fighting as of late, and was just sentenced to 18 months in jail on assault charges. He’s currently out, awaiting appeals, and taking that opportunity to make the trip to Azerbaijan.
