UFC on Fox 10 kicked off out of the United Center in Chicago, IL with the preliminary fights on Fight Pass and FS1. Krylov got the action started right with a quick knockout of Harris. Sullivan earned a closely fought decision over Rhodes with both guys gassing out by the end of the fight. Cruickshank added a couple spots to his highlight reel en route to a TKO over Rio.

Daron Cruickshank vs. Mike Rio

Rio and Cruickshank stayed for most of the first round of their lightweight fight. Cruickshank got off to an early lead as he peppered Rio with quick combos and low kicks. Rio caught up as he started landing counters, mostly with his lead left hook. But, Cruickshank scored big when he landed a head kick that dropped Rio in the closing seconds of the round. In the second round, Rio had recovered from the damage he took late in the first, but Cruickshank started opening up on the feet. He followed that up with a takedown attempt that left him defending a close hell hook attempt from Rio. When he managed to escape and stand up, he landed a highlight reel spinning back kick to the face that brought the beginning of the end. He flurried on Rio, who did nothing but cover up before referee Herb Dean stopped the fight with only seconds left in the round.

Daron Cruickshank TKOs Mike Rio at 4:56 of round 2.

George Sullivan vs. Mike Rhodes

A slow start through the first round of this welterweight fight. They were even on the feet through the first couple minutes. Rhodes took the first advantage when he tossed Sullivan to the mat to score the first takedown. But, it was Sullivan who took the round with a takedown of his own with 90 seconds left. He ended the round in mount though he didn’t do a lot of damage. Rhodes looked good on the feet through the second round. He hurt Sullivan a couple times with power punches, but Sullivan found his stride later in the round. It was a rough final round for both men who were showing signs of exhaustion throughout. Sullivan edged out the round, mostly on the feet, to earn the decision.

George Sullivan beat Mike Rhodes by unanimous decision (29-28 x 3).

Walter Harris vs. Nikita Krylov

It didn’t take the smaller Heavyweight anytime at all to finish this fight. Krylov kept Harris from closing the distance using front kicks. He followed that up with a Brazilian kick that came around Harris’s guard to land on the side of the head. Krylov flurried on his rocked opponent to earn a quick TKO victory.

Nikita Krylov TKOs Walter Harris at 0:25 of round 1.
