In the main event of UFC Fight Night 35 former Strikeforce middleweight champ Luke Rockhold took on Constantinos Philippou. It didn’t take Rockhold long to prove his striking superiority to Philippou. First, he caught him early in the first round with a lead hook. When that didn’t get the job done, he hit him with a pair of kicks to the body that dropped Costas and got the TKO stoppage.
Rockhold opened the action with a kick to the body. Both fighters slow to be the first to really engage as they try to find range and timing. Philippou came in with a pawing jab but got caught by a lead right hook from Rockhold. After a brief clinch Philippou pressures with hooks, but Rockhold moved out of range. Rockhold hurt Costas with a kick to the body, he brought his guard up with a soft jab then landed another liver kick that ended the fight.
