Tete-A-Tete: UFC Fight Night 34 preview and predictions with Dallas and Eugene

With Kid Nate on the lam (always wanted to use that phrase), MMA outliers Dallas Winston and Eugene S. Robinson form a sort of renegade collaboration to bring you the latest iteration of MMA Tete-A-Tete: Coarsening the Discourse. Saturday morning’s UFC Fight Night 34 from Singapore is the focus. The headlining bout pits Belgian and former Strikeforce champ Tarec Saffiedine vs. Hyun Gyu Lim of Korean Top Team while lauded Japanese juggernaut Tatsuya Kawajiri makes his Octagon debut opposite fellow newcomer Sean Soriano.

Despite the frightening ramifications of this realization, Kid Nate is generally the sole semblance of order for these shows and, without him, Eugene and I just shoot the breeze before diving into the event’s full lineup. Martin Scorsese’s ill-advised decision to get off the blow and the Hughes Brothers’ directorial path are just some of the cinema-centric topics that are addressed en route to the match-up discussion. Ay me.
