The headlining fight of UFC on Fox 9 saw Demetrious Johnson looking to defend his Flyweight title against Joseph Benavidez. Johnson became the first ever UFC 125 lb. champion with a very close split decision win over Benavidez at UFC 152. He defended his title this time with a much more definitive win, knocking out Benavidez in only two minutes.
The champ opened up the action with a couple low kicks. It took Benavidez a bit to find his pace, but then started coming in with quick combinations. Mighty Mouse was shrugged off on a takedown attempt. After a couple exchanges, Johnson landed a devastating right hook that sent Benavidez to the ground. Demetrious followed up with ground and pound that probably wasn’t needed before the referee could stop the fight.
