The main event of the card was a Flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger Joseph Benavidez. Former Bantamweight contenders Urijah Faber and Michael McDonald met in the co-main event. Chad Mendes and Nik Lentz fought in the Featherweight division while TUF veterans Joe Lauzon and Mac Danzig fought at Lightweight.
