The ratings for last weekend’s UFC Fight Night 33 event in Australia are down from the last event, but about the same as usual overall. The show, which mostly aired on Fox Sports 1, had an average viewership at 755,000 and peaked at 886,000 during the main event according to Nielsen sources. The prelims that aired on Fox Sports 2 averaged 132,000 viewers.

The event was headlined by a titanic heavyweight battle between Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva that went to a five-round draw.

These numbers are about in line with what most of the recent Fight Night events have done, but the last event, the TUF 18 Finale, did much bigger numbers than any of their other recent FS1 offerings. That show averaged 1,129,000 viewers on the strength of the TUF season presumably.

It’s very hard to compare the events overall though, since they’ve aired on different nights. This event took place on Saturday in Australia, but aired on Friday night in North America. Some events have also taken place on Wednesday instead of the traditional Saturday night slot.

The next UFC event that will air on FS1 should be UFC Fight Night 35 from Atlanta, since UFN 34 from Singapore is likely to air on the UFC’s new digital network.
