As the main event for UFC Fight Night 33, Heavyweights Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva battled back and forth in a five round fight of the year candidate. It was a war of attrition that left both men bruised, battered, and cut ending in a majority draw decision. UFC president Dana White dubbed it the greatest Heavyweight bout of all time and awarded both men Fight of the Night honors along with their win bonuses.
While both fighters will need some time to heal in the aftermath, Hunt has already undergone surgery to repair damage to his left hand. During the fight, Hunt broke bones in several places on his hand then underwent correct surgery to start the healing process. He posted before and after pictures on his Facebook page on Saturday. You can check those out below.
The UFC has not yet released the medical suspensions from UFC Brisbane. Bloody Elbow will keep you updated as we find out more about how long Hunt and the other fighters from the event will be on the shelf.
