UFC Fight Night 33 results: Ryan Bader dominates Anthony Perosh en route to a unanimous decision win

Coming off a loss to the next Light Heavyweight contender, Ryan Bader met Anthony Perosh at UFC Fight Night 33. Bader took control of the fight early and never let it go. He outstruck Perosh on the feet and used that to score takedown. From their he punished “The Hippo” with ground and pound on the mat to win the unanimous decision victory.

Bader took over early. He pressured Perosh with harder strikes than he could handle from the opening bell. Perosh showed a lot of heart withstanding the onslaught and returning to his feet after takedown, but Bader was relentless. Halfway through the second round he trapped Perosh against the cage while continuing to land blows. Perosh got back to his feet but looked hesitant to engage. Another takedown from Bader in the last minute of the round leads to an elbow that opens the Australian up above his left eye.

Bader scored an early takedown in the second round. Not as dominant as he was through the first half of the first round, but he still managed to land big shots from top position. Perosh repeatedly tried to create distance to start a scramble, but Bader stayed heavy and landed close elbows at every opportunity.

Again in the final round, Bader was completely dominant. Perosh couldn’t compete on the feet and gave up an early takedown. Bader threw more and more ground strikes that left Perosh’s faces bleeding all  over the mat. It was as amazing that Perosh was able to survive as it was the Bader couldn’t score the finish.
