UFC 167 medical suspensions: Johny Hendricks out 6 months, Georges St-Pierre out for 45 days

Saturday night, Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre successfully defended his title against Johny Hendricks. The official decision has been wildly ridiculed by fans, media, and UFC president Dana White alike. All three judges agreed on rounds 2-5, giving Hendricks rounds two and four and GSP rounds three and five. Two of the judges scored round 1 for the champ while only one did for the contender.

Regardless of the judging controversy, it was a back and forth battle that left both men feeling the effects. St-Pierre face showed a ton of cuts and bruises at the post fight presser and Hendricks tweeted out a picture of his damaged hand the following day. According to a release sent out by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, GSP’s superficial facial wounds will only keep him out for a month and a half while Hendricks could be down for 6 months for a knee injury.
