Two big fights topped off Bellator 108 on Friday night. In the main event, former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson made his promotional debut. He was supposed to face Tito Ortiz at Bellator 106, but an injury forced Ortiz from the fight. Instead he debuted against fellow UFC vet Joey Beltran at a 210 lb. catchweight. Rampage made an impression on the 205 lb. division with a first round KO.

The co-main event featured a Heavyweight title fight between champion Alexander Volkov and challenger Vitaly Minakov. Minakov made the most of his opportunity and took the belt with a dominant performance. Check out the full results below.

Main Card:

Quinton Jackson TKO Joey Beltran Rd 1 4:59

Jackson used his footwork early to cut off the cage against Beltran. Despite controlling the the location at range, Rampage repeatedly found himself with his back against the fence in Beltran’s clinch. It looked like Joey may be on his way to an ugly decision win. Then, Quinton turned it on. He backed his opponent into the fence and jumped in with a knee to the body. He unleashed a combination where a big left hook shook Beltran and a following right hand put him down. Referee Dan Miragliotta jumped in shortly after to stop the fight.

Vitaly Minakov TKOs Alexander Volkov at 2:57 of round 1

Minakov took the Bellator Heavyweight title in a dominant performance over now former champion Alexander Volkov. They clinched up and Minakov went for a belly-to-belly suplex. It didn’t work out, but he quickly swept to get into Volkov’s guard. A lull on the ground forced referee Dan Miragliotta to stand them up. Back on the feet, Minakov landed a big uppercut that sent Volkov down. After seeing enough ground and pound, Miragliotta stopped the fight.

Marcos Galvao TKOs Tom McKenna at 4:29 of round 1

Bantamweight Galvao completely dominated McKenna in their one round fight. He scored an early takedown then wore Tom out with heavy top pressure and submission threats. McKenna got up for a second only to be dumped on his back again. Finally, in the final minute of the round, Galvao threw a flurry of ground and pound strikes from back mount while staring at the referee and waiting for the stop.

Patricio Freire TKOs Justin Wilcox at 2:23 of round 1

“Pitbull” got off to a quick start in his Featherweight tournament final against Wilcox. He landed a strong left early and never looked back. A right hand shook Wilcox a minute later. Freire followed up delivering punishment while Wilcox turtled trying to survive. The referee allowed Justin to take a lot of unnecessary blows before finally stopping the fight.
