UFC 166 results: Andre Fili batters Jeremy Larsen en route to a second round TKO

On the UFC 166 Facebook prelims, Jeremy Larsen (8-4, 1 NC, 0-2 UFC) made his Featherweight debut against short notice replacement Andre Fili (12-1). Fili poured on the punishment from the opening bell, but Larsen was a game opponent. Cut and battered, Jeremy threw some bombs of his own before finally falling in the second round.

Both men looked to keep it on the feet early with Fili pressing the action. He rocked his opponent with a right hook, but Larsen responded with a some looping hooks to back him off. Larsen went for the takedown and feel pulled him up into the clinch. Big knee from Fili had Larsen reeling, he followed up with violent shots but Larsen recovered. Quick pause as the doctor checked out a cut on Larsen. Jeremy ate some big shots on the feet before he got the fight to the mat. Nice sweep from Fili put them back on the feet and Larsen ate another powerful left hands the bell rang and his face was covered in blood.

Another check from the ringside physician on larsen’s cut between rounds and a warning from the ref that he’ll stop the fight if it worsens. Larsen Landed a big right but Fili was unfazed. “Touchy” Fili responded with a  right hook that sent Larsen to the mat and the fight is over.

A great debut for Fili after failing to make weight yesterday. The win will hold his UFC roster spot while Larsen will likely lose his after going 0-3 with the promotion.
