Things didn’t work out too well for Rashad Evans when he got a crack at Jon Jones at UFC 145. Rashad lost that fight by a very clear unanimous decision, failing to really achieve much offensively, something that has become a trend in recent Evans fights.

Now, with a fight against Chael Sonnen on the horizon, Evans is saying that he still is interested in a rematch with Jones down the road (via Fighters Only):

“I hit a bit of a slump losing two fights in a row, so now I am getting back on track with my win against Dan Henderson. I want to get back in the race, I want to get another fight with Jon Jones, he’s at the top right now and I want to work my way back up there and get another chance to fight him,” Evans tells Fighters Only.

Rashad’s fight with Dan Henderson got him back in the win column, but nothing he did in that fight is likely to convince fans or the UFC that he now has a better chance against Jones.

In fact, people are probably more interested in seeing what Rashad can do at middleweight and what Jones can do at heavyweight (after fighting Glover and rematching Gustafsson).
