We’re less than one month away from Bellator’s first foray into the PPV world, and the event is nearing a full fight lineup. Yesterday it was confirmed through a Bellator press release that the British lightweight has joined the promotion and will make his debut this November on the Spike TV prelims:
Submission ace Terry Etim will return to the cage on November 2nd as the Liverpool native will make his Bellator debut against Patrick Cenoble. The lightweight affair will be featured on Spike TV leading up to Bellator’s highly anticipated Pay-Per-View, which is headlined by MMA icons Rampage Jackson and Tito Ortiz.
Etim (15-5) was released from the UFC following a memorable wheel kick KO loss to Edson Barboza at UFC 142 and then an upset decision setback against Renee Forte at UFC on Fuel 7 in London. The Forte loss put him at 1-3 in his last 4, which was enough to see him out of the UFC.
His opponent, Patrick Cenoble, is 9-2-1 in his professional career, but all of those non-wins have come in his last 4 fights. Cenoble’s last bout, which doubled as his Bellator debut, ended in a split draw vs. Tony Fryklund in March 2013. Yes, the same Tony Fryklund who previously went 6 years without fighting and hasn’t won since 2006.
Also on the prelims (on the Spike.com portion of the broadcast) is Mike Guymon (14-6-1), whose sole Bellator fight ended in a KO defeat to Savant Young in 2012. Guymon finished 1-3 in the UFC, briefly retired, but came back and has since won 2 of his 3 post-UFC bouts. The 39-year-old faces Aaron Miller (14-8, 1 NC), winner of his last 5 (all by decision).
The Bellator 106 main event pits Quinton Jackson versus Tito Oritz in a three round fight. Three title fights are all slated for the main card, including a highly anticipated rematch between lightweight champion Michael Chandler against former champion Eddie Alvarez.
