Coming off a 9 month suspension for a failed drug test at UFC on FX 6, Rousimar Palhares returned to the UFC Wednesday night at UFC Fight Night 29 for his Welterweight debut. He faced off against Mike Pierce. Pierce pressure Palhares early, but quickly found himself defending Toquinho’s infamous leg locks. On the second attempt, Palhares locked a heel hook in and forced Pierce to tap. However, the submission led to some controversy as Palhares held the tap after the referee went to separate the fighters.
Many fans are saying Palhares deserves punishment for holding the leg, while others think he wasn’t out of line. Take a look at the highlight video and let us know what you think.
