Adonis Stevenson def. Tavoris Cloud, TKO Round 7 3:00
This was Stevenson’s first fight since winning the Light Heavyweight title from Chad Dawson, and he fought every bit like a champion. Tavoris Cloud was simply never in this fight, as outside of a very few brief exchanges in rounds 5 and 6, he was just dismantled by Stevenson. CompuBox had Stevenson outlanding Cloud on power punches by an astonishing 85-15.
In round 1, Stevenson landed powerful left hands that rocked Cloud, and the challenger never seemed to recover. It wasn’t long before Stevenson was clowning Cloud, dropping his hands and trying to bait him into a fight. It was an incredibly confident performance from Stevenson and one where he presented himself as a truly major star on the big stage.

With this win, Stevenson shows that the Dawson win was no fluke. He also clearly sets the stage for hopefully a Stevenson vs. Sergey Kovalev showdown in 2014. That’s clearly the fight to watch for at 175.
