Two upcoming UFC cards have been bitten by the injury bug once again. The first one is the last piece of fallout from a fight that the UFC was determined to make, but just kept falling apart. Anthony Njokuani, who had his third booking with Paul Taylor upended once again by a Taylor injury (and led Taylor to retire), had been expected to fight replacement Al Iaquinta. But that won’t be happening   (via MMA Junkie):

Sources close to the fight on Tuesday told MMA Junkie that the lightweight has been forced off UFC Fight Night 30 with an unspecified injury.

It’s unclear if Iaquinta will still fight on the card or not.

In addition to that, an injury to Antonio Braga Neto has forced him to withdraw from his UFC Fight Night 31 bout with Derek Brunson. Braga Neto has been replaced by a fighter who will be making his UFC debut. MMA Junkie with the news again:

Injury has forced Antonio Braga Neto (9-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) out of a planned UFC Fight Night 31 meeting with fellow middleweight Derek Brunson (10-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC), and Brian Houston (4-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has agreed to take the open slot.

Houston had been set to make his debut at UFC 164 against Yoel Romero, but was removed from the card due to an undisclosed medical issue. UFC Fight Night 31, also known as Fight for the Troops 3, takes place on November 6th in Fort Campbell, KY.
