Floyd Mayweather def. Canelo Alvarez by majority decision
Many felt Canelo Alvarez could give Floyd Mayweather a real run for his money. Unfortunately, that never happened. Canelo managed to make the incredible Mayweather look almost human at times, but not enough to win many rounds. Ultimately, Mayweather took home the decision victory. Of course, it wouldn’t be boxing with some controversy, as judge C.J. Ross scored it a 114-114 draw.
With time running out, Canelo Alvarez found himself in need of a finish against Floyd Mayweather. The Mayweather vs Canelo boxing super fight was an interesting affair in many ways. At the same time, it was largely controlled by Floyd Mayweather. Early rounds were close, with Mayweather winning but not showing the kind of dominance we expect from him. But since the midway point, Mayweather easily outpointed the increasingly tired looking Canelo, while Canelo never managed to turn it on and land heavy shots.
