UFC Fight Night: Teixeira vs. Bader – Live results and play-by-play for main card

UFC Fight Night: Teixeira vs. Bader takes place live tonight on Fox Sports 1. The card features a total of eleven bouts spread out over Facebook and Fox Sports 1. The Facebook preliminary bout starts at 4:30 p.m. ET with four prelim bouts on Fox Sports 1 at 5 p.m. ET and a six fight main card on Fox Sports 1 at 7 p.m. ET.

This post will cover live results for the main card.

The night’s main event is a light heavyweight bout between Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader. The co-main event is a middleweight bout between Yushin Okami and Ronaldo Souza. Top flyweights Joseph Benavidez and Jussier Formiga and lightweights Francisco Trinaldo and Piotr Hallmann also take place tonight.

Rounding out the card is a middleweight bout between Rafael Natal and Tor Troeng and a flyweight bout between Marcos Vinicius and Ali Bagautinov.

Marcos Vinicius vs. Ali Bagautinov – Round 1 – Ali is landing some heavy shots early and Vinicius is having to survive. He does and tries for a takedown after a heavy barrage of punches but Ali has a guillotine, Vinicius survives again and now he has worked his way around to Ali’s back. Vinicius landing some good shots and controlling on the back. Vinicius tries to get an armbar but he can’t. He does get the takedown though. 10-9 Vinicius.

Round 2 – Vinicius moving around the outside. Ali ends up with a takedown, Vinicius with an escape to his feet and he works some good knees before Ali takes him right back down. Vinicius is working for an omoplata or maybe a gogoplata but he can’t finish, so he throws a hard elbow instead. Ali stands up. Another takedown to end the round. 10-9 Bagautinov.

Round 3 – Really slow round now. Big right hand and Vinicius is down. Bagautinov follows up with some heavy shots and it’s over. Ali Bagautinov wins by KO (punches), round 3.

Rafael Natal vs. Tor Troeng – Round 1 – Natal catches Tor on the ear and knocks him down, Natal on top on the ground now. Both men sweeping now and Natal stays on top, in good position. Tor almost gets another sweep but Natal manages to remain on top. Tor manages to sweep. Tor lands a big left and now Natal is trying to get back on top, Tor gets the back but now is back on top in Natal’s half guard. 10-9 Natal.

Round 2 – Natal drops him again to start the round. Natal now following up with some big shots. Big elbows now by Natal. Tor with a sweep. Natal back on top now though. Not a ton happening aside from positioning changes now and Tor stands up using the cage. 10-9 Natal

Round 3 – Natal has a deep guillotine and takes it to the ground, Tor is able to survive somehow though and even ends the exchange on top. Now Natal with a sweep. Natal finishes the round on top and I think he won every round.

Official scorecards: 30-27, 30-27, 29-28. Rafael Natal wins by unanimous decision.

Francisco Trinaldo and Piotr Hallmann – Round 1 – Hallmann walking forward while Trinaldo tries to find space to open up. Wild overhand right from Trinaldo lands hard enough to Hallmann’s shoulder that it still causes him to stumble. Trinaldo with a body kick and Hallmann is hurt. Another body kick and Hallmann is still up somehow. Another body kick from Trinaldo and Hallmann is really badly hurt. Trinaldo is still walking him down and throwing a lot of strikes to the head and body. 10-9 Trinaldo.

Round 2 – Hallmann with a takedown now. Trinaldo gets up but gets taken down again. Trinaldo turns and is getting up but now looks for a takedown of his own. Hallmann with another takedown and Hallman is on top now taking over as Trinaldo fades. 12-6 elbows from Hallmann draw a warning. Hallmann grabs an arm and torques it until Trinaldo taps out. Piotr Hallmann wins by submission (kimura), round 2.

Joseph Benavidez vs. Jussier Formiga – Round 1 – Benavidez is walking forward, they exchange with neither man really landing. Benavidez with a kick to the body that misses and Formiga with a nice counterpunch. Left hand by Benavidesz lands. Benavidez with a nice combination and now a knee and Formiga is down. Benavidez flurries for what feels like forever at a prone Formiga before the ref stops it. Joseph Benavidez wins by TKO (punches), round 1.

Jacare Souza vs. Yushin Okami – Round 1 – Body kick by Jacare. Big right by Jacare and now he’s firing huge punches over and over at Okami who is just covering up. Okami survives and gets distance. Jacare with a big right and Okami is down. Jacare firing big punches over and over and it’s over. Jacare Souza wins by TKO (punches), round 1.

Glover Teixeira vs. Ryan Bader – Round 1 – Bader with a jab and then a shot that he abandons and throws a punch. Left hand by Bader hurt Glover a bit. Bader with a guillotine that he can’t finish. They’re back to standing and now Bader almost gets caught in a guillotine. Uppercut by Bader, big right by GLover. Bader lands a hard shot and Glover is down. Glover back up, Bader tries to unload and now Glover counters and drops Bader and follows up with huge shots and it’s over. Glover Teixeira wins by TKO (punches), round 1.
