Following his self-admitted lackluster decision victory over Max Holloway at last weekend’s UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen, Irish featherweight Conor McGregor has certainly managed to keep our attention. Rather than falling off the grid as some do after fights, McGregor took the elite of the UFC’s featherweights to task last night via Twitter. Granting his fellow 145-pounders just cursory and somewhat insulting appraisals, McGregor spoiled Sanchez with 122 characters of vitriol, calling him ‘fat, sloppy and slow.’
Going back to Saturday evening, It looks like McGregor took exception to some of Sanchez’ commentary regarding his ascension as one of the UFC’s rising stars.
Cant believe the hype on this next guy not being a hater but who the hell has he beat more less even faced? Im taking @BlessedMMA

Just because dana takes you for a ride in his Ferrari does not make you the next best thing. The guy is talented very but hype is just hype.

He is a very dynamic striker I like… but groundgame? Need that to survive in @ufc

Now the better part of a week later, McGregor returns the favor with some observations of his own.
@DiegoSanchezUFC You’re the fattest, sloppiest, slowest Martial Artist i’ve ever laid eyes on. I’d go upto 170 to whoop your fat ass. EASY.
— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) August 22, 2013
Sanchez replied soon thereafter:
@TheNotoriousMMA i have bigger fish to fry like #1rankedlightweight oct 19, be ready when I see you at fight summit it’s on leprechaun!!!!!

Sanchez is due back in action against former Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez at UFC 166 in October. Although not directed at anyone in particular, Sanchez seemed to address the spat with the following tweets:
Cant wait to shut up all the people calling me fat boy #ufc166 #bestshapeofmylife #imhealthyhealedandfocused

All this socialmedia shit just motivated me that much more.
