In the UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen co-main event, Heavyweight Alistair Overeem looked to redeem himself against Travis Browne. Browne denied him the opportunity by weathering the early storm. After absorbing brutal punishment, Browne landed a show-stopping front kick that put The Reem down and led to the finish.
Overeem threw combos early to back Browne into the cage. He punished him with punches and knees to the body. Despite absorbing punishment that would have wilted lesser men, Browne maintained his defense to whether the storm. Overeem landed his patented inside knees and tight hooks to the body and head, but Browne managed to survive. Once they separated again, Browne started throwing kicks to keep Reem back. He landed with a well-placed front kick that sent Alistair to the mat. he followed up with a couple ground strikes to get the stoppage.
