In only one month’s time, Jon Jones will be facing Alexander Gustafsson for the Light Heavyweight championship at UFC 165. Jones has dominated the 205 lb. division since he took the strap from Mauricio Rua at UFC 128. Gustafsson poses a new challenge to him, but will need to bring his A-game on September 21 in the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
Even with Gus holding the spot of current contender, many are wondering what’s next for the Light Heavyweight division. The UFC addressed that on Twitter at the UFC 163 post-fight press conference:
The “strong win” Glover needs will have to come over TUF 8 winner Ryan Bader. The two are scheduled to meet on September 4 in the Jornalista Felipe Drumond Stadium in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
