The final bout for the UFC’s return to Indianapolis on August 28th is now set to go. Jason High has stepped up on short notice and will face off with James Head in a welterweight bout. Fox Sports has the news:
A new opponent was found for James Head, who was previously scheduled to fight Bobby Voelker. (Voelker was tapped to fight Robbie Lawler UFC on Fox 8 on July 27.) Head will take on Jason High in the welterweight bout.
High (16-4) had a seven-fight win streak stopped when he was submitted by Erick Silva in just 71 seconds at UFC on Fuel TV 10 in June. He is still looking for his first UFC win after losses in two separate runs with the organization. Head (9-3) is coming off a TKO loss to Mike Pyle at the TUF 16 Finale last December. He was scheduled to face Nick Catone at UFC 159, but the bout was scratched due to a Catone medical situation after the weigh-ins.
The bout will take place on the preliminary card. The main event of the UFC Fight Night card will be a rematch between welterweights Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann.
