After an 18 month hiatus, Bantamweight Brian Bowles made his return to action against George Roop on the Facebook portion of the UFC 160 prelims.
Roop looked to use his reach early mixing in leg kicks and straight punches. Bowles stunned him with a right hand but he recovered. They traded punches for another couple minutes before Brian dropped him again. Bowles grabbed the guillotine and couldn’t lock it in, but did reverse into mount. He dominated the round with punches from the top before the bell.
Roop looked to learn from his mistake in round 1 by staying way out on the outside to start round 2. Roop caught Bowles coming in and dropped him. He followed him to the ground and finished the fight with strikes.
