The Nevada State Athletic Commission occasionally releases the salaries of UFC fighters before big events, and this is one of those times. It’s not the whole card, but there’s a fair amount of cash being thrown at the headliners. MMA Junkie is reporting the salaries for the top four fighters on the card – UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, his opponent Antonio Silva, and co-main event fighters Junior dos Santos and Mark Hunt. Here’s a look at their respective salaries:
Cain Velasquez – $400,000 (no win bonus)
Antonio Silva – $75,000 to show, $75,000 to win
Junior dos Santos -$120,000 to show, $120,000 to win
Mark Hunt – $160,000 (no win bonus)
It’s kind of interesting to see how many more guys are getting guaranteed money now as opposed to having to earn half of it via win bonuses. As a reference, Velasquez made 100k/100k to fight JDS for the title at UFC 155, while Dos Santos got the 400k flat fee. Silva made 70k with no win bonus in his fight with Alistair Overeem at UFC 156. Hunt had never competed in the UFC in a region where salaries were released before tonight.
