The Lightweights took the stage second for the UFC On FX 8 undercard with Rafael Dos Anjos facing off against Evan Dunham.
The Lightweights strike from range early with Dos Anjos getting of first in the exchanges. Despite his reach advantage, Dunham looked to strike from the inside. He got Dos Anjos on his back and rode out the remainder of the round in top position without dealing out much damage.
The second round stayed pretty even throughout the first half. Dos Anjos still landed the better shots on the feet but Dunham held his own. Dos Anjos taking the lead by striking first and seeing some success with the clinch against the cage. Dunham got a late takedown and ended the round in top position.
They exchange hooks on the feet before Dunham changed levels for a takedown. Dos Anjos was able to defend and shrug off the attempt. Dos Anhos landed a couple solid kicks to the body. He looked much crisper on the feet than Evan. In the final minute, both fighters went all out winging hooks with whatever they had left to finsih the fight.
Rafael Dos Anjos wins a Unanimous Decision (29-28 x 3) over Evan Dunham
Dos Anjos stepped into the Octagon on a three-fight win streak and a UFC record of 7-4. With a 7-3 UFC record Dunham came into the fight off a split decision win over fellow FX 8 fighter Gleison Tibau.
