It didn’t take too long for former WEC and UFC featherweight Leonard Garcia to find a new promotion. The Texas native has signed with Texas-based Legacy Fighting Championships, a signing the company confirmed yesterday via Twitter:

Garcia (15-11-1) has fought twice before in Houston, losing to Nam Phan and Roger Huerta in FOTN performances. He’s already stated he plans to join Team Alpha Male after a long stint with Greg Jackson’s camp in New Mexico. In an interview with Bleacher Report, Garcia’s management said that Legacy has given them the flexibility to return to the UFC if he is given the call up one more time:

Our goal is to get back in the UFC and Legacy gave us the flexibility to take advantage of that opportunity when it presents itself,” Garcia’s management team at Haymaker’s Empire stated. “We are looking forward to putting on exciting fights with Legacy and thank them for the opportunity.”

Trujillo, whose nickname is “The Warrior”, is 14-10 with 10 of his wins coming by KO/TKO and none by submission. He’s won his last two fights under the Legacy FC banner, so I think you can figure out what to expect when these two meet in a couple of months.

Legacy FC already sports familiar ex-UFC and WEC faces such as Carlo Prater, Damacio Page, Will Campuzano (Legacy’s 125 lbs champion), and Matt Riddle. In fact, Riddle will be competing on the same July 19th show, so you’ll get to see both Garcia and Riddle compete in their respective bouts on AXS TV.
