Despite having earned his spot as one of the top Lightweights in the UFC, Anthony Pettis opted to drop down a weight class and challenge Jose Aldo for the Featherweight belt. Since losing his promotional debut to Clay Guida, Pettis has gone undefeated in three fights. He capped off that streak at UFC On Fox 6 with a first round TKO of Donald Cerrone. So far, the only other fight official for the August 3 event is between Welterweights Josh Koscheck and Demian Maia. Koscheck is coming off a devastating upset KO loss to Strikeforce transferee Robbie Lawler. Maia, on the other hand, has been on an incredible tear since dropping down to 170 lbs. He hasn’t lost in four fights, most recently dominating former contender Jon Fitch in a decision win.
