The ladies took second slot on the FX prelims for UFC 159 with a Bantamweight bout between Sara McMann and Sheila Gaff. McMann’s Olympic-level wrestling was on full display in her dominant victory over Gaff.
Gaff charged forward right at the opening bell only to be met with a double-leg takedown from McMann. Sara put Gaff’s head against the cage and looked to ground-and-pound. Gaff was able to control her posture with a closed guard. Boos came from the crowd before the referee stood them back up. They tied up in the clinch, but McMann secured another takedown into side control. It didn’t take long for her to advance to mounted crucifix and throw punches to get the stoppage.
