The Lightweights were featured at the top of the FX prelims for UFC 159 where suplex-machine Rustam Khabilov fought Yancy Medeiros.
Slow start to this fight as both men are staying out of the others’ range. Khabilov caught a low kick and immediately transitioned to the back. He attempted a suplex but didn’t get Medeiros over his shoulder. Yancy scrambled out and quickly called for the attention of referee Dan Miragliotta. Dan had the fight doctor check Medeiros’ thumb and the fight is called because it’s broken.
Rustam Khabilov defeated Yancy Medeiros by TKO (doctor’s stoppage) in Round 1.
