UFC 159 results: Michael Bisping outpoints Alan Belcher for unanimous decision victory

With both men looking to get back into the Middleweight title picture, Michael Bisping and Alan Belcher fought in the UFC 159 co-main event.

Weirdness before the fight when the commission cut off Belchers ankle wraps. Belcher worked to establish tange with his kicking game. Neither fighter really landed anything significant through the first 3 minutes. Bisping got in a couple decent right hands. Very slow round and the action stopped after Bisping took a poke to the eye. Bisping landed a right just as the bell rang.

Bisping really went heavy on the low kicks to start out round 2. Bisping started to landed more consistently and more accurately. this wasn’t the most exciting fight, but Bisping pulled away as the better striker. Belcher slowed down late in the round and Bisping started hitting some solid combinations.

Third round just further illustrated Bisping’s superiority to Belcher. He has better cardio and quicker hands. He didn’t need to work for the KO and didn’t over extend himself to find it. A late eyepoke from Bisping stopped the action with less that a minute left in the fight. Belcher’s eye was bleeding. The fight was called to a stop.

Michael Bisping took the unanimous technical decision over Alan Belcher
