European kickboxing organization Glory has a big show coming up this weekend, and for fans in the US, they have just made a major announcement.

Starting with this weekend’s Glory 7 Milan, Glory shows will air in the US on CBS Sports Network. For now at least, they will be airing on a same day delay with Glory 7 set to air at 1:00 a.m. ET / 10:00 p.m. PT Saturday night/Sunday morning. The network will be airing the next show, Glory 8 Tokyo on May 3, on a similar delay. Future shows will also be aired on CBS Sports Network, though the schedule is not yet finalized. The station already broadcast last December’s Glory 4 Tokyo, however this is a more long-term deal allowing multiple Glory shows to air in the US.

With K-1 and Spike no longer working together, this deal makes Glory the only kickboxing organization with wide broadcast distribution in the US. It would be nice if the shows would air live, but this is definitely a positive step for a sport that has often struggled to gain mainstream interest in the US.

In related news, Glory is making further in-roads into the US market with their ongoing “Road to Glory” series. Now, they have announced a new US show – an 8 man one night kickboxing tournament in the Lightweight division to be held in Milwaukee, WI on May 11. This event is being promoted by the great Duke Roufus, a kickboxing veteran himself and the current star trainer to the likes of Anthony Pettis and Ben Askren. More details, including ticket information, available here.
