In the world of combat sports today, very few fighters stand in the rarified air of Giorgio Petrosyan. The Glory champion is the undeniable king of kickboxing right now, and stands alongside Floyd Mayweather and Anderson Silva as the best in the world. He’s on an insane 6 year undefeated streak that has included 2 K-1 Grand Prix crowns, the Glory GP title, and wins over pretty much every name available in the 70kg division. It’s hard to envision him losing to anyone right now.

For this fight, Hafid El Boustati takes his shot at the champ. Boustati is a top 10 Middleweight who has fought many of the world’s best, but he’s a very serious underdog here. He’ll have to fight the fight of his life to take down The Doctor – if he can somehow pull it off it will be the biggest upset in combat sports in years. But his chances are slim.
The other big highlight on the card is Robin van Roosmalen vs. Murthel Groenhart. That should be a great fight, but more importantly, it potentially sets up a Petrosyan vs. Groenhart Glory champion vs. K-1 champion fight for later this year. Also watch out for Yuri Bessmertny vs. Davit Kiria, former It’s Showtime champions Sergio Wielzen and Artem Levin, and Steve McKinnon – all excellent fighters in action in Italy.
