Carlos Condit predicts Georges St. Pierre beats Johny Hendricks

Following Georges St. Pierre’s seventh consecutive Welterweight title defense at UFC 154, all eyes were on rising contender Johny Hendricks as the next challenger. Unfortunately for Hendricks, his spot got usurped by by former Strikeforce champ Nick Diaz. Now that GSP has defeated the Stockton fighter and Hendricks has beaten his fourth consecutive top 10 opponent, the two are finally expected to meet.

Former interim champion Carlos Condit, who has now given up unanimous decision to both men, gave his prediction to Inside MMA (via MMA Mania):

I’m going to have to go with Georges St. Pierre. Georges St. Pierre – he’s just a more polished fighter. Johny Hendricks, he’s dangerous and he’s got good skills be he is a little rough around the edges when it comes to his whole game, and Georges is just such a technician. He puts things together so well and is just a sharp, clean fighter and I think that’s going to make the difference in that match up.

Before the two face-off in the Octagon, St. Pierre will have to recover from the injury his trainer Firas Zihabi reported following UFC 158. Hendricks has been calling for the fight to happen as early as September, however no official date has been announced by the UFC yet.
