World Series of Fighting cage approved two hours before first fight, event will take place as planned

Last night Bloody Elbow reported that the second ever World Series of Fighting card was facing the possibility of cancellation after issues had arisen preventing the cage from being approved by the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board (NJSACB). There were two issues that were holding up approval.

WSOF borrowed corner pads from local promotion CFFC to replace their own corner pads, which were not thick enough to meet safety standards.

They also had to replace their canvas, which was too short to meet approval. They flew in the canvs they used for their first event from Las Vegas. That canvas arrived this morning and was put on the cage.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. ET, the fixes were finally approved by the NJSACB and the show will take place as scheduled.

The first undercard fight was set to start at 6:30 p.m., meaning they cut it within about two hours of the start of the show before receiving approval.

But, again, the show will go on as planned.
