And you thought there was no MMA to soak in tonight …?
Under the watchful eye of well known MMA manager Ed Soares, the organization’s president, the Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) promotion hosts their seventh show tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET on AXS TV (formerly HDNet). RFA 7: Thatch vs. Rhodes takes place from the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, with local favorite Brandon “Rukus” Thatch (8-1),who reps the Grudge Training Center, taking on unbeaten Roufusport product Mike “Biggie” Rhodes (4-0) atop the card.
Chidi Njokuani (9-3), a fan-friendly staple on RFA lineups and the brother of the UFC’s Anthony Njokuani, draws Team Wildman’s Jeremy Kimball, who’s fresh off a decision win over Drew McFedries. Momentum will accompany both fighters for the 177-pound catchweight bout, as Njokuani has won 7 of his last 8 and is riding a 4-fight win streak (with 3 TKO’s) while Kimball has emerged victorious in 8 of his last 9 with Donnie Liles — who holds wins over Seth Baczynski and Pete Spratt — standing as the only hitch along that road.
5-0 Mirsad Bektic, who made Sherdog’s “Prospect Watch,” will meet 6-2 Nick Macias in featherweight action.
