The Welterweights opened up the UFC On Fuel 8 main card.
Siyar Bahadurzada came out with his right hand cocked and ready to unleash the counter. He caught Dong Hyun Kim early as the grappler came in aggressively looking for the clinch. After being tossed away, Kim kept up the pressure trying to get inside for the takedown. He finally got it about halfway through the round. It took him almost no time to secure mount and win the round from dominant position.
The second round was all DHK. It didn’t take him long to wrap up Siyar against the fence and get the takedown. from there he moved straight into dominant position. Unfortunately, his submission and ground-and-pound game weren’t advanced enough to secure the finish, but he didn’t let his opponent mount any offense.
The final round looked just like the second. Kim grabbed a quick takedown and dominated Siyar from the top. He threatened with an arm triangle and did his best to pour on the GnP, but couldn’t come up with the finish. Overall, a good performance for Kim and a disappointing one from Siyar.
Dong Hyun Kim won by unanimous decision (30-27 x 3)
