Another quality bout has been added to ONE Fighting Championship’s 8th event this April which is headlined by Shinya Aoki challenging Kotetsu Boku for the lightweight strap. The Singapore card, which has been shaping up quite nicely, now includes a middleweight bout between Melvin Manhoef and UFC and WEC veteran, Brock Larson.
The promotion made the announcement today with their newly signed fighter in Larson moving up in weight to challenge the dutch striker. Larson has won 3 in a row, and 7 of his last 10 since his 2009 stint with Zuffa, and has career wins over the likes of Mike Pyle, John Alessio and DaMarques Johnson. Manhoef on the other hand, will also look to continue a 3 fight winning streak and is coming off back to back brutal KO wins over Denis Kang and Ryo Kawamura.
Manhoef has recently joined the Black House roster, and was one of the main training partners of Lyoto Machida during his UFC 157 fight camp. This has led to rumors of him joining the UFC, but as reported on Bloody Elbow earlier, he still had some contractual obligations with the top Asian promotion.
