UFC on Fox 6: Johnson vs Dodson – Live results and play-by-play for main card on Fox

As with every major show, Bloody Elbow will be here to bring you live results, play by play and commentary for UFC on Fox 6: Johnson vs. Dodson. Our live coverage will start with the one fight on Facebook (4:35 p.m. ET) followed by the fights on the FX prelim broadcast (5 p.m. ET) through the Fox main card (8 p.m. ET) so make sure to make Bloody Elbow your home for this event.

This post will cover live results and thoughts for the main card on Fox.

The main event of the evening sees flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson defending his title against John Dodson in a five round bout. Co-main event for the evening will be light heavyweight Quinton Jackson in his last UFC bout against Glover Teixeira. Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone will meet in a lightweight battle many expect to be fight of the night and featherweight’s Eric Koch and Ricardo Lamas meet to kick off the broadcast.

Eric Koch vs Ricardo Lamas – Round 1 – Head kick from Lamas misses. Koch with a head kick that is blocked. A lot of strikes missed for each guy so far. Lamas uses a feint to get inside and shoot for a takedown. Ater a long time trying for the takedown they’re back to the center of the cage. Koch with a left hand that gets in a little bit. Lamas finally gets the takedown now but Koch stands up pretty much right away. Not…entertaining. 10-9 Lamas I guess.

Round 2 -Lamas working some leg kicks and Koch trying to counter with punches and he lands a kick o his own. Lamas slips, Koch tries to get on top but ends up on his back with Lamas landing. Now Lamas lands a huge elbow and Koch is opened up. Lamas going wild now and the fight is stopped. Ricardo Lamas wins by TKO (elbows and punches), round 2.

Anthony Pettis vs. Donald Cerrone – Round 1 – Pettis with a big right to the chin early. Now he lands a few more shots and Cerrone answers back. Pettis throws some sort of somersault kick that doesn’t land but a hard right hand does moments later. Hard body kick by Pettis. Big knee by Pettis. Huge body kick and Cerrone drops! He stopped him on a body kick! Beautiful. Anthony Pettis wins by TKO (body kick), round 1.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Glover Teixeira – Round 1 – Rampage threw a leg kick early. He’s moving his head a bit, looking for an opening while trying not to get caught. Glover lands a jab. Glover with the takedown and he is on the back quickly. Glover looked like he wanted an arm triangle but Rampage avoiding it. Rampage gets up and he lands a punch and then a leg kick. Rampage ducks under a haymaker and lands a short hook. Uppercut by Rampage and then a jab. Rampage just tried to uncork a huge left but missed. He did land a jab though. Left hand by Jackson is barely blocked and a leg kick by Glover. Now Glover with a left hand as Jackson was off balance. Lef thand lands for Glover and Rampage was hurt by that one. Right hand drops Rampage. Gover tries to open up with a big flurry but Rampage survives. His legs are still a bit gone. Rampage with two punches that get in. Jab by Rampage. Right hand by Rampage. 10-9 Teixeira.

Round 2 – Glover gets a quick takedown to open the round and Rampage tries to work a half guard game. Glover looking to pass to side control. Rampage finds space to get back to his feet. Two hard uppercuts by Rampage and he still looks loose, looks recovered from being rocked in round one. Glover throwing straighter punches now and landing a bit. Uppercut lands for Glover. Rampage is slowing down and tiring now. Rampage shoots in and couldn’t get the takedown. Rampage with a good flurry and he’s starting to taunt Glover. Rampage keeps up the taunting and Glover BLASTS him with two body shots. Uppercut lands for GLover. Three punches by Rampage. 10-9 Glover.

Round 3 – Glover with a hard left hand. Rampage lands a flurry and Glover smiles at him. Jackson wants to fight. Glover shoots. It gets back to the feet and they’re exchanging hard. Now Rampage looking for the takedown but nothing there. Glover still winning here and he digs to the body. Glover with a superman punch and Rampage is exhausted. Rampage with a few hard punches. Glover pretty much dominated the entire fight. 30-27.

Official scorecards: 30-27, 30-27, 29-28. Glover Teixeira wins by unanimous decision.

UFC Flyweight Championship: Demetrious Johnson vs. John Dodson – Round 1 – Leg kick by Johnson. Body punch by Dodson and a leg kick. A let hand lands for Dodson and Johnson hit his knees or a quick second. Head kick by Johnson and Dodson throws him to the ground. Right hand lands for Johnson. Johnson working the jab now. Johnson gets caught by a punch from Dodson but does manage to get a big takedown. Dodson gets to his feet and pushes Johnson into the cage. 10-9 Dodson.

Round 2 – Dodson got inside but nothing doing there and Johnson landed a sharp punch. Dodson hurts him with a big punch. Oh! And again a few seconds later! Dodson is hurting him badly here. Johnson is recovering now but he’s got to figure something out, because Dodson looks very sharp right now. Hard knee to the body by Dodson. 10-9 Dodson.

Round 3 – Johnson trying to come forward and Dodson is keeping distance and dictating when they engage. Johnson shoots in and Dodson avoids the takedown. Low blow by Johnson. Flying knee lands for Dodson. Leg kick by Johnson and Dodson catches it and lands a hard punch. Johnson lands a few nice punches, but Dodson lands a return shot. Good body kick by Dodson, Johnson with a right hand that lands after it. Takedown by Johnson. Johnson tries to move to half guard. Dodson gets up without taking much damage and he works the knees to the body. 10-9 Johnson.

Round 4 – Johnson with a big takedown. Johnson has the headlock and Dodson touches the ground, making a knee Johnson throws illegal. So we get a break. Now they start up again and Johnson is looking for the takedown again. Johnson pushes him into the cage but Dodson lands a knee to the body and spins back to the circle of the cage. Johnson drops for a single leg again. Elbow by Johnson as he’s looking for the takedown. Knee to the body by Johnson. Johnson landing some legal knees to the head Johnson landing over and over and Dodson has to put his hand on the ground. Dodson bleeding now. Johnson kneeing away still. Big elbow by Johnson and a hard punch. Johnson is turning it up hard now. 10-9 Johnson.

Round 5 – Johnson coming forward, landing punches, then a knee to the face and he gets the takedown. Dodson gets up and pushes him into the cage. Johnson with some elbows and he chases Dodson down landing more strikes. Dodson tries to hold on but Johnson separates and lands a leg kick. Dodson trying to get in on a takedown and he does get it but Johnson back up quickly. Knee to the face by Johnson and now to the body. Again a knee to the body and now to the head. Dodson hurt badly! Johnson all over him with knees and hard uppercuts. Big knee by Johnson. Big knees and Dodson is hurt again! Johnson working the knees and uppercuts hard. 10-9 Johnson (almost a 10-8)

Official scorecard: 48-47, 49-46, 48-47. Demetrious Johnson wins by unanimous decision.
