If you think you’ve heard this fight announcement before, it’s because you have. A featherweight fight between Robbie Peralta and TUF 14 alum Akira Corassani was originally scheduled for UFC 156, but that fell through. MMA Junkie confirmed that this matchup has been re-booked for Sweden on April 6th:
A previously reported featherweight bout between Akira Corassani (10-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Robbie Peralta (16-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC) now is official for UFC on FUEL TV 9.
Corassani and Peralta originally were targeted for next month’s UFC 156 event, but an illness forced Corassani pull out of the bout.
Corassani debuted in England last September, winning a controversial decision over Andy Ogle at UFC on FUEL TV 5. Peralta fought on the same card, KOing Jason Young in 23 seconds. He’s yet to lose in the UFC, although he does have a no-contest against Mackens Sermerzier after it was determined Sermerzier was “TKOed” by an accidental headbutt.
UFC on FUEL 9 will be headlined by a light-heavyweight clash between Alexander Gustafsson and Gegard Mousasi. It is unknown whether or not this fight will be on the main card or on the Facebook prelims.
