Top light heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson was in Stockholm earlier in the week to drum up interest in his April 6th bout with Gegard Mousasi at UFC on Fuel 9. He spoke to MMA Viking about the fight in video above, and was pretty confident about winning the matchup. And he is serious about not hearing the final horn:
“I will win the fight, no doubt. It’s not going to be a decision, that’s for sure because two decisions in a row now is too much. I want to have a finish, I want to go for a finish, I want a finish and I’m going to win the fight.”
Gustafsson apparently earned a UFC light heavyweight title shot with his win over Mauricio Rua at UFC on Fox 5, but the title is tied up for a while and it’s only natural that he’d continue to fight in the meantime. Mousasi is a dangerous opponent, but Gustafsson is happy to have the opportunity to take the fight:
“I can’t wait to fight in my hometown in front of my home audience against a top guy like that.”
The event will take place in the Eriksson Globe, where UFC on Fuel 2 went down as well.
