It appears that yet another Canadian has been added to the UFC 158 card on March 16th in Montreal, this time in the bantamweight division. According to Joe Ferraro of Sportsnet, Sudbury’s Mitch Gagnon will tangle with Japanese fighter Issei Tamura. He tweeted about it over the weekend:
Gagnon (9-2) is currently at 1-1 in the UFC. He dropped his debut fight to Bryan Caraway by submission, but rebounded with a 69-second submission win over Walel Watson at UFC 152. Tamura (7-3) is also 1-1 in the UFC, picking up a win at featherweight over Tiequan Zhang in his debut, but losing to Raphael Assuncao by TKO in a bantamweight bout at UFC on Fuel 4 last July.
The bout is expected to take place on the preliminary card. UFC 158 will be headlined by a UFC welterweight title bout between champion Georges St. Pierre and former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz.
