This borders on the absurd, and is ultimately an unfortunate turn of events for UFC middleweight Michael Kuiper. He was scheduled to fight on the recent FX 7 card, then was moved to FOX 6, and now he’s without a fight completely. Each reason is identical – His opponent suffered an injury. Newcomer Josh Janousek was signed only last week to fight Kuiper at UFC on FOX 6, and now he’s off the card.

That is the FOURTH different opponent for Kuiper since November 3rd. He was booked for FX 7 against Thiago Perpetuo, and by December 1st he had a new opponent in Caio Magalhaes. Come Christmas time Kuiper was off the FX card and moved to FOX to fight Buddy Roberts. Last week news broke that Janousek would replace Roberts, and now he’s injury victim #4.
The 23-year-old Dutchman is 1-1 in the UFC, with a loss against Rafael Natal and a TKO win over Jared Hamman. It’s since been confirmed that Kuiper will not compete this weekend.
