Kurt Holobaugh took a chance by accepting a very short notice fight against Strikeforce Lightweight contender Pat Healy at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine. Holobaugh lost the fight but it appears that the decision was a career win as he is headed to the UFC according to his manager Lex McMahon:

Holobaugh tweeted a follow up that he is aiming for the UFC Featherweight division (in response to a tweet from MMA Sun:

While all three judges gave Healy the win, Holobaugh impressed many fans and journalists with his striking, submission attempts and game attitude against the veteran Healy. He should be a welcome addition to the UFC’s Featherweight division.
