Rory MacDonald wants to hurt Carlos Condit ‘the way he hurt me’ in UFC 158 rematch

Rory MacDonald is 14-1 as a professional mixed martial artist and that one loss is bothering him something awful. It came against veteran Carlos Condit at UFC 115 in 2010 in the third round of a bout MacDonald had been winning. The two will rematch at UFC 158 in March at MacDonald’s request.

He talked to BJPenn.com and told them about his plans for Condit:

“My overall MMA game has changed so much and I’ve added so many different techniques that from where I was when I fought him the first time. I’m just a whole other fighter; I don’t fight anything like I did when we first fought. I just want to do what he did to me; I want to make him feel the embarrassment I felt in front of his family the same way I felt. I want to hurt him the way he hurt me and I don’t want him ever to forget the time that we’re going to be in there for those 15 minutes. I want him to think about that for the rest of his life.”

As we posted in December, for his part Condit is less enthused about the bout and questioned MacDonald calling him out:

I kind of had a feeling that he was going to call me out. So I went over and, sure enough, he did. I think the whole thing was pretty, I don’t know, the tone of it made it seem like I had wronged him. Like I did something wrong. I was just doing what the hell I’m supposed to do. I think it’s probably the way that he lost. He was undefeated at that point. He was the man, the next big thing. I think he thinks it’s his destiny to be the champion, and I went in there and smashed that dream. So I can see it. But it’s a little bit odd, I think.
